Longships Light and large Longships can be used either as a double or a twin room. The original tower of the Longships Lighthouse was built in 1795. We stayed at the Blue Seas many times and it always feels like visiting friends again. Arnaud and Fiona are wonderful hosts and always made us feel very welcome. Very nice rooms, comfortable lounge with a huge selection of books for rainy days of which we had quite a lot this time! Beautiful Breakfast freshly made, very quiet, very clean. It doesn`t feel like a hotel. It rather feels like a home.

20th August 2024:
Waking up in the morning and having a real chef preparing authentic breakfast delicacies is one of the luxuries of this B&B. The Blue Seas is on a quiet street, within walking distance of the centre of Penzance, the train and bus station and the famous Jubilee Pool. The building is very well maintained. We stayed in a charmingly decorated room with maritime motifs. It was spacious, with a large window overlooking a well-kept garden and the sea in the distance. The bed was very comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep. A cosy living room next to the entrance is an ideal place to spend a few hours reading. But the most surprising thing is the breakfast. An extensive list of cooked dishes one may choose from, ranging from the typical English breakfast to porridge or specialities as simple as an omelette, are freshly prepared by the owner and, apart from being delicious, are plated with good taste, just like in a Michelin starred restaurant. It's almost a pity to eat and spoil the decor. The B&B is run by a friendly couple who are always on hand to help, giving tips and suggestions on walks, places to visit and places to eat. It was one of the best places we stayed during our holiday. We highly recommend it.

Fiona & Arnaud could easily conduct a masterclass on how to run the ideal guesthouse! We travel a LOT and have never experienced such an ideal welcome & guesthouse experience. We consider ourselves lucky to have stayed there for a week, and esp, to enjoy Fiona's attention to every detail and Arnaud's magic in the kitchen. Judy & John

You both of you could not have been more helpful and welcoming.
Tips:For basic necessities there are co-ops in Queen's Square and Market Jew Street, also a Boots. Be aware of bus times, best to catch buses from bus station. Information Centre is shut weekends and not all that helpful. Recommend the Penlee Art Gallery and also the cafe set in the gardens. For Bernard Leech Pottery, St Ives, would recommend the bus to go, from Penzance bus station as it stops close by. Otherwise it's a steep hill walk up from St Ives station. Summer starts early in Cornwall, in May so bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Recommend early morning walks around Penzance.

We cannot thank you enough for making our stay in Penzance such a pleasant one. Our room was lovely, and we looked forward to the homemade cookies you provided each day. Delicious! You assisted us with so many details, including locating alternate transportation when a rail strike disrupted our travel plans. We especially appreciated your suggestions about interesting sites we might visit, and the directions to these sites that you provided were clear and detailed so that we could navigate easily. The delicious breakfasts you prepared far exceeded our expectations. The Blue Seas is conveniently located, and the service Arnaud & Fiona provide is exceptional. We hope to visit again someday!

This was our first time staying with you - we would definitely like to come back! Your breakfasts were extraordinary and so delicious! Great location for using public transit (bus and train) to see the Penwith Peninsula. You were both so gracious, welcoming, cheerful, warm, and helpful with information we could use to make the most of our time there. We loved the cheerful colors and thoughtful touches, such as the fresh-baked treats left in our room each day. We also enjoyed the flowers in your front garden. Our only suggestion, a small one, would be for a container of air freshener to use when needed for the bathroom (hope that isn't too much info! :-) ) Thank you so much for the wonderful stay at Blue Seas!! Fiona and Arnaud were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble to ensure I had a really good stay. The room had a sea view and was very comfortable, Arnaud’s breakfasts were amazing and the little garden in front was just the place for a relaxing cup of tea and a chat at the end of a busy day. Will definitely return, thanks guys!
Tips:Blue Seas is in a brilliant setting, a street away from the sea-front in a most peaceful Terrace. It is also a short walk (10mins) from the mainline railway station which I found very useful as I arrived via the train, with my bike. Arnaud stored said bike in his garage and was very happy to fetch it out when I wanted to cycle over to St Michael’s Mount via the coast path or to Mousehole, both easy rides. I was attending an art course at Newlyn which was easily walkable via the promenade but there is also the local bus (LandsEnd Coastal ) which stops right outside the Newlyn Art School and will take you all around the coastline to all the places you need to visit!

It’s been one of the most enjoyable stay that I have ever experienced, and I can totally understand why others who gave 5 stars ratings after their stay at Blue Seas hotel. With top-notch hospitality from Arnaud and Fiona, one would fully enjoy their vacation in Penzance. Our room was immaculately clean and tidy. Breakfast was simply amazing, with soooo many options to choose from. Thanks to Arnaud, you will always have something to look forward to after you wake up in the morning. The hotel is also very conveniently located, with approximately 10 minutes walk from the train station, and is close to the city center and the promenade. Fiona also provided lots of good tips on exploring around the neighbourhood. As for the breakfast; the choice is amazing and everything prepared to perfection (I've used that twice now). I can say without hesitation "The best I have ever experienced", and no - I haven't been paid to write this review :-)

Fiona and Arnaud were delightful hosts and very personal. I really appreciated the little considerations such as providing us plates for some birthday cake after noticing we didn’t have anything to eat on. The different mini bakery treats every day were lovely to come back to, and the breakfasts were incredible. The rooms were always serviced everyday to a high standard and Fiona was always on hand to recommend lots of great places.
Tips:Definitely take a walk along the coast to Newlyn to try the Mackerel Sky Fish Bar. If you want to tackle something more challenging, try cycling the 34 mile camel trail from Wenfordbridge to Padstow (and back).

Our stay at Blue Seas was excellent. It was great right from the start, beautiful garden in front of the hotel, warm welcome from the owners, clean and beautifully decorated hotel. Our room was also very clean and decorated with good taste. Perfect organization and hard work of the owners was visible at every step. However, the owners, Fiona and Arnaud, deserve the greatest compliments. They were always smiling and helpful. The breakfasts they served were excellent and very tasty. Everything was made with fresh and homemade products. It's hard to describe everything exactly, but my fiancée and I were very delighted. We can honestly and wholeheartedly recommend Blue Seas. If we are planning a holiday in Cornwall again, we will definitely come back to Blue Seas. Greetings and all the best to Fiona and Arnaud.

I had very enjoyable stay in Blue Seas Hotel, location was perfect, just 15 min walk from train and coach station. The house is professionally maintained, everything was clean, room itself was beautiful and cosy, bathroom was perfect with nice power shower. The Breakfast menu is fantastic,I had special requirements, because of my diet and the hotel owners specially bought the ingredients for my breakfast, what was very tasty and beautifully presented. I can easily recommend this hotel to other people, who's planning to stay in Penzance and explore beautiful Cornwall. Thank you so much Fiona and Arnaud for your hospitality and kindness.

This was by far the nicest place we stayed in during a 10 day trip to Devon and Cornwall. We had a beautiful, spacious and well-equipped room overlooking the sea. Fiona and Arnaud are very welcoming and helpful with local info. The breakfasts are amazing - Arnaud's home baking is not to be missed, and the menu would not be out of place in a Michelin restaurant. So sorry the Blue Seas is so far from London! Very highly recommended.
Tips:The best and most interesting restaurant is the Kota in Porthleven, but the Gurnard's Head and Coastguard (in Mousehole) are very good too. St Ives is disappointing because totally overrun with tourists in the summer and directions within the town are minimal. Ask Fiona about local walks. Lots of maps and guides in the lounge.

Worth staying here if only for the breakfasts! Our room was comfortable and airy. Not large but well laid out, though I was baffled by the workings of the shower. We would have appreciated a few more power points for charging the myriad electronic devices one travels with these days, also a point for an electric razor/toothbrush in the bathroom. We were very pleased with the spacious guest sitting room, a facility all too often overlooked.
Tips:Despite the way GWR and Isles of Scilly Travel advertise, do not rely on the Riviera Sleeper connecting with Scillonian 111’s sailings! One can dine very well in Penzance & Newlyn, and can recommend the Navy Inn, just round the corner, the Tollcarne Inn, and the Alverne (expensive but worth it). Do book in good time, most restaurants are small. Seafront chippies all seem to close surprisingly early should a fish supper appeal. As a wine trade professional myself, I can recommend Mounts Bay Wine as a serious wine and spirit merchants.

This was our second stay here. It was wonderful. Everything about the hotel is first class. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and with the most amazing breakfast. Fiona and Arnaud are wonderful hosts. Artaud’s cooking and baking skills are out this world. Great choice of breakfasts. Home made granolas, yogurts, pastries and breads. Also home baked biscuits in the room each day waslovely touch. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
Tips:Plenty to see and do. Lovely coastal walks to Newlyn and Mousehole. St Michaels Mount is wonderful if you haven’t been before but be aware that it’s a little climb up on uneven cobblestone pathways. Plenty of great places to eat. Lots of cafes and pubs. Also not too far from places like St Ives, although it was very busy there when we went. Not too far from Eden which is worth a visit also near the Cornish seal sanctuary.

An added bonus is the little front garden which is a sun trap and the perfect place for a cup of tea and one of Arnaud’s home made biscuits or pastries. Thank you so much we could not have stayed anywhere better in Penzance.

Great little hotel in brilliant location, just behind the Jubilee pool in a sheltered terrace with pretty little garden where we were able to sit in the sun. Private parking, which is a real positive. Hosts Fiona and Arnaud made us feel really welcome. Fiona is a great mine of information about anything local, and Arnaud cooks the best breakfasts we've had in a while (definitely 5*).
Tips:There are some good restaurants in Penzance, and the best ones we went to were the Boatshed and the Old Lifeboat House. For lunch, there is a nice little place at the Jubilee Pool (gets very busy) and the Dolphin pub was very popular nearby. We loved Porthleven (some lovely little shops) and Sennen, and Marazion beach. Mousehole is worth visiting, if only to watch the cars trying to negotiate the narrow roads - recommend you walk there as it's not that far. Penzance itself was busy but not as crazy as St Ives, so felt reasonably safe during these Covid times.

Of course we would recommend Blue Seas Hotel to our close friends and family, however it is tempting to want to keep it all to ourselves ! Joking aside the experience from start to finish was exceptional with no exaggeration needed. We opted for breakfast with our room and I must admit it was the finest breakfast we have experienced at any hotel of anyplace we have stayed. Both myself and my wife weren’t sure weather to tuck straight in or sit back and admire as every mornings plate resembled a work of art..
Tips:Certainly don’t eat too much the night before or you just might miss out on the best breakfast this side of anywhere you please. If you’re hiring a car for your stay make sure it’s a small one as the roads are very narrow. Drive slowly and be considerable of other road users. Visit as many secluded coves and bays as you can, most of them haven’t changed visually for hundreds of years... Be polite to locals and bare in mind that “your” weeks holiday destination happens to be “their home”. Take the time to just sit and enjoy your short time there as it seams most folk are in too much of a rush these days. They a missing out ! Bring a waterproof coat and or a brolly, Cornwall has its own micro climate and can be both sunny and wet in the same hour. Take lots of photos. Enjoy

Fiona and Arnaud are very welcoming and helpful hosts. Blue Seas is in an excellent location, convenient to transport, restaurants and other facilities, and has lovely views over Mounts Bay. Our room (7) was spacious, a very comfortable bed, very good ensuite, perfectly clean and a lovely view. The breakfasts were the best we enjoyed in three weeks in England (and that includes 5 star hotels). The cold selection was excellent and Arnaud’s cooking absolutely delicious.
Tips:Fiona and Arnaud will have plenty of tips but there are quite a few very good restaurants in Chapel Street, including Blacks, the Bakehouse and the Turks Head Pub. Two Fore Street in Mousehole is an excellent place for lunch but you might be wise to book. Penzance is a very good base to explore the surrounding area. We had hoped to do more walking but the weather did not cooperate. Nevertheless, it is a good base for that and driving around as well.

Blue Seas was a truly delightful guest house. The old stone house has been meticulously updated and maintained and our room had a fresh but not overdone seaside theme. How perfect given the coastal view from our window. Breakfast was more than we hoped for... fresh everything and a made to order hot breakfast if desired. The breakfast room was charming and comfortable as well, with current newspapers, and a cold buffet that included home made yogurt, baked goods, fresh fruit etc. Our hosts were friendly but not intrusive.
Tips:We enjoyed walking around this little coastal town and found great dinner options within 3-6 blocks. We left our rental car in the lot and enjoyed taking the bus to other seaside areas like St. Ives. Parking near village centers is near impossible, and the transit system is excellent.

A classy and professionally run B & B making it a delight to stay there. Fiona is a live-wire font of information and Arnaud is a breakfast cook of distinction. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our stay most enjoyable.
Tips:Ask for a demonstration on the high tech showers, as once you’ve mastered them they are excellent. Lots of good restaurants nearby but the Mackerel Sky Café is a must if you enjoy fish - outstanding!

We just got home from our month long trip and Blue Seas was by far our favorite place in our travels. The facilities are impeccably kept, but above all, we enjoyed Fiona and Arnaud and the atmosphere they provide. It was our first stay at a B & B and it was so much fun to meet other travelers and share ideas about the days activities and also get input from Fiona and Arnaud. And last but not least, the breakfast was incredible - also the best food on the trip. Thank you Fiona and Arnaud - I hope we can return very soon. Nancy and Rick Jevons

The Blue Seas is an outstanding place to stay in Penzance. The rooms are newly decorated, spotless, and maintained daily to a very high standard. There is parking available. Some of the rooms have an ocean view. The price is very, very reasonable. A superb breakfast is included. It is within walking distance of the ocean and most of Penzance. But the most outstanding aspect of the Blue Seas is Fiona and Arnaud, the owners. They are so friendly, accommodating and helpful that we felt we were staying with friends. I felt we were lucky to have found the Blue Seas instead of the relatively expensive hotels nearby.

This stay was one of the most perfect in all our travels! From the warm welcome on arrival to the help with our departure (taxi, etc.), we were delighted. We have already recommended Blue Seas to others.
Tips:Much of Penzance shopping is in easy walking distance, as are some good pubs and restaurants. We especially liked Turks Head pub and the Queens Hotel. The local bus ride to Lands End was quite an experience.
