Fran and Stuart were such nice hosts making us feel very welcome and informed about our stay in Penzance and area. We stayed in room 9 which is on the ground floor and in easy access to the breakfast room. The good thing about the location is the quiet. The road isn't busy and there are no loud pubs or bars around.

No matter if you arrive by car, train or bike, it's easy to get around. St Michael's Mount is about a 90min walk from Penzance or 10min ride on the bus. Mousehole is a little gem with small alleys to discover, cafes, and souvenir shops to pop in. We also did a lovely walk from Treen to Porthcurno on a misty but warm day which was rather magical.

Nothing was too much trouble for Fran and Stuart. Helpful with recommendations of places to visit, directions and even providing fridge and microwave in breakfast room for guests' use later in day.

A visit to Mousehole via the 'Mouse' bus is a must. If you want a memento of your trip the gift shop 'Coast', tucked away on a winding alleyway, has lovely gifts. On return leave the bus at Newlyn, from where it's a lovely easy walk to Keigwin, and you'll have had the chance to admire the local fishmongers' displays of the abundant Cornish catch!

We stayed at Keigwin for one night before our holiday to the Isles of Scilly. Fran was so welcoming - and the facilities are great - a nice touch for me is always the option to have fresh milk in the room to make a proper cuppa! Beds were really comfortable and the room was spotless. Thank you for your hospitality - we'll definitely book again with you when we next visit Scilly. Oh - also - the home mad biscotti was delicious!

We walked to the Dolphin for food (we eat there every year) - it's a leisurely 20 minute stroll - mostly along the seafront. We did get a taxi to the quay the following morning and used a taxi recommended by Fran - the taxi was on time and the chap was lovely.

I always receive a warm welcome at Keigwin House. I can ask for advice on local activities, places to eat etc. I especially appreciated an early cooked breakfast, half-an-hour before the usual starting time, in order to catch the ferry to the Isles of Scilly.

There's a number of pubs on or near the sea-front which serve good food. In summer it's advisable to book ahead a night or two if possible.

To make room 2 perfect I would recommend 3 bathroom tweaks... a hook on the back of the door, a hand towel ring by the sink and an extra shelf or small free standing cupboard... otherwise absolutely great and I hope to be back next year. Framers Fish and Chips Barbican Bistro and the Orangery at Penlee are very good. The Exchange is worth a visit and I enjoyed walking to St Michael's Mount. Mainly I was in Penzance for the brilliant annual Literary Festival

Fran and her husband are always welcoming, friendly and do everything to accommodate me. The standard of service is excellent. I've been staying here for several years and I will definitely be returning again. Everything is super clean and the breakfast is great.

Very near to Penzance Promade, with plenty of places nearby to eat, such as chip shops, Chinese and Indian restaurants. Nice pubs nearby. About 5-10 minute walk from Pz town. If you are on a restricted diet eg.dairy free, Fran will make every effort to help. I had oat milk in the mornings.

It's a must for anyone going to the rugby a quick 5 min from ground also fantastic for sea front so beautiful walking along the prom also terrific places to eat. Went to beach club hotel just down the road fantastic meal and not too expensive would highly recommend it

Stayed either side of a weekend trip to the isle of Scilly @ the Keigwin. Fran was there to greet us as she said. We stayed in room 1 for two nights, the room was spacious, and had all the facilities we needed for our weekend stay. We walked from the B&B to St Michaels mount and back, which is about 10 miles there and back., if you don’t like walking you can take the bus, which are frequent. The town centre is not far if you are in need of a large supermarkets and a short walk to Newlyn. On the Monday we caught the Scillonian 3 to the isle of Scilly, Fran had arrange breakfast for us early. Breakfast you have a choice of cereals, toast,Jams etc; the full English was excellent every time. We stay for one night on our return journey from Scilly isle, which was brought forward due to the weather, Fran was up to date with the crossing times and kept in touch with us to see what time we would be arriving and our room was ready for us when we arrived back. On our return we stayed in room 2, lovely room newly decorated and a very comfortable bed too; again clean, warm, coffee and tea facilities in the room. Fran and her husband are very knowledgeable about the area, they are helpful and run a lovely B&B in the middle of Penzance. Thanks for your hospitality. We would go back.

If you like the Rugby - the Penzance Pirates stadium is a short walk down the road. Newlyn is a 10 min stroll - the Mackerel sky is a lovely fish tapas restaurant; you can’t book, so just get there early and queue, they have two restaurants near each other now which makes life easier. Fresh fish dishes with flavours. The boathouse restaurant in the quay is lovely, food good, but advisable to book. Ferry to the isle of Scilly 5 mins down the road. Town center 5 mins The Boat house pub was a nice friendly pub for a drink.

Very friendly welcome and informal but attentive service. Thoughtful and helpful advice about the area. Excellent breakfast included in the price and very good facilities in the dining room, where we could eat in the evenings if we wanted a takeaway! Very clean and tidy room. We had a restful, undisturbed sleep on a very comfortable bed. Lovely hosts and a very enjoyable mini break.

Very good base for Art Gallery visits in Penzance and Newlyn. A short walk along the front to the bus and train station if you need it. Excellent fish and chips at The Red Lion pub in Newlyn.

This was my third stay here, and I feel very relaxed and at home. It is easy to get around to other places in the area, and along the coast, even without a car, as the local trains and buses are within easy access. There are a number of pubs in Penzance and Newlyn with large and small restaurants to have a good meal in. Fran is always helpful with any problems and accommodating with special requirements.

See above! The restaurants I have recently used include ‘45’ in Aueen St. PZ, and the Fishermens Arms in Newlyn. A visit to the Morrab Gardens and the Penlee Gallery, both in Morrab Rd. is worthwhile, and there is a good cafe for snacks and lunch at the Gallery.

We had an unplanned one night stay at Keigwin after we were unceromiously bumped off our Skybus flight to Scilly owing to the weather, forcing us to seek an overnight stay in Penzance at zero notice in preparation for catching the ferry the following morning. So we were very much at sizes and sevens and outside our comfort zone having been thrown into a situation we weren't expecting. The fantastic reception we received from Stuart immediately started to 'steady the ship' so as to speak as he took time not only to show us our room etc but also to fully explain where everything was in the town, good eating and drinking options, how the ferry and getting to the ferry would work the following morning etc etc. In short both Stuart and Fran could not have been more welcoming and accommodating in our short stay and it was even with a slight tinge of sadness we bade them farewell the following morning, and despite the very early start not before enjoying their delicious cooked breakfast to set us on our way. So Keigwin will now be our automatic first port of call when next we're in Penzance, and would be somewhere we'd confidently recommend to others. Thanks once again Stuart and Fran!

There are many restaurants but I had little time to patronise them. The beach walk is very agreeable and the town is good for explorers.

Fran and Stuart were very friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent especially the homemade pancakes. Car parking was mostly easy but we struggled on the day that the rugby was on hence the 4 on location. The only reason for 4 on the facilities was that the shower pressure was very low and the toilet cistern was so slow to fill up. Would definitely go back. Thank you for your great hospitality.

My stay stay at the Keigwin House was only for one night but I was was given a warm welcome by genial hosts, Fran and Stuart, whose friendly and easy-going natures made me feel quite at home. My room was all that I could ask for, clean, tidy and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. I could not have asked for more and will certainly look to stay at the Keigwin on my next visit to Penzance.

Very nice staying here. It’s outside the busy part of Penzance but easy to walk back to the town center. Excellent breakfast. The owners have great recommendations for local things to see and do.

We received a warm welcome .Our room was very comfortable and we slept extremely well.We we’re travelling up from Penzance by train the next morning and Fran immediately offered to do breakfast for us at 7.30 which was much appreciated.Only drawback could possibly be the stairs up to the front door for less mobile individuals but again we were helped with our bags to our room so assistance is provided.Breakfast was excellent!

We walked to Newlyn and lunched at Tolcarne Inn and dinner at 2 Fore Street Mousehole would highly recommended both venues.

We had a fabulous welcome and Fran and Stuart were very helpful and supportive - with advice about how to negotiate the ferry to the Scillies and the car parking. Our room was very comfortable, everything worked there were even charging sockets in the walls. In view of our up coming journeys we did not have a cooked breakfast but it looked and smelled great.

If you are heading to the Isles of Scilly, Fran and Stuart are experts and will be able to help with the ins and outs of travel.

An excellent B&B. Host Fran was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of eating places. Being able to use the dining room to cook our own evening meal on one evening and save a bit of money was welcome. Couldn't fault it as a place to stay in Penzance.

We had a lovely meal at "Gino's Spaghetti House", just a 10 minute walk away. "The End of the World" bookshop on the main street is worth a visit.

The Dolphin Tavern is perfect for food and beer. The walking path along the coast between Penzance and Marazion breathtaking with its view on Saint Michael's Mount. The hop on hop off bus is very convenient to visit around the area.

Lovely friendly welcome! Fran and Stuart are always helpful with a great fund of up to date local knowledge. Our newly refurbished suite was really lovely and there was a wide choice of breakfasts to suit all tastes, full English,Continental and even pancakes! We felt refreshed and rested after our stay.

Keighwin is a perfect base from which to visit the great Cornish Gardens,coastal spots,art venues,the Minack theatre,or swim in the lively Penzance Lido!

I would definitely stay there again. Fran is a very good host. Use of the dining room and microwave in the evening is very useful if you don’t want or can’t eat out. Fran is also very accommodating for vegan diets and I imagine any other dietary requirements. The bed was comfortable and the room was cosy and quiet.

I have been staying at the Keigwin for several years now. Fran and her husband are always very friendly and helpful. Fran goes out of her way to ensure I have everything I need, such as plant milks. The rooms are spotlessly clean, there is a TV. I share a bathroom, but even in the middle of summer, there is never a queue. The breakfast is beautifully cooked and very tasty. I will visit again soon.

There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in Penzance, but be aware that most shut at 8pm in the winter. However, there are some excellent pubs, such as the Admiral Benbow. The shopping centre has lots of interesting individual shops, much more fun than the usual chain stores.

A nice quiet house, close to sea front, town centre, rail/bus station. Hosts very friendly and helpful with advice about things to do, places to visit and where to dine. Great breakfasts and the possibility to prepare own meals in the dining room also comes in handy.

Tai restaurant just a few steps away serves authentic Tai food. The telegraph museum PV Porthcurno well worth a visit. The Cornish Oven sells really good Cornish pasties.

We and family have been 3 times. Fran and Stuart are so friendly and helpful (even offer fresh milk for our bedrooms rather than UHT!) Bedrooms spacious, large beds, lovely fresh linen. Good shower. Breakfast fantastic, even offer lovely pancakes with fruit - all beautifully served. One word - FAB-U-LUS!!

Outdoor swimming pool close-by. Fish and chips a short walk along the promenade which we enjoyed eating overlooking the sea. If on Scillonian for first time, take a sea-sick tablet even if sea very calm (we always do, mostly not necessary). Get to pier early to get luggage put in containers which gives you chance to get good seat on boat (reclining seats with tables best).

Stuart and Fran were extremely accommodating when our journey to the Isles of Scilly was cancelled. At short notice they rearranged rooms to accommodate five of us. Hospitality first class and made the disappointment disappear very quickly. Both were able to give us some fantastic ideas for food with the children and places to go on the Sunday. Very grateful and will most definitely be back.
