25th August 2022:
A real find, very friendly and helpful owners, very well kept hotel, clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast and nice touches like providing extra bottled water each day. Tea and coffee in room facilities very good and refreshed each day. Very well located, left out of the hotel for the town(5min walk)and right for the seafront(2min walk) About a 15 min walk from the station, quicker through town, but may be easier via seafront.
Tips:Food - didn’t have a bad meal, in fact all were excellent, try the Dolphin, the Dock(both on quay street and next door to each other). Little India in the town, main Street near the seafront end provided an amazing curry. Drinks - The Dolphin and the Dock both good, also the Bath Inn, one street further along from Morrab street approaching from station. Also the Turks head is worth a look further along quay street/chapel street heading towards town. Day trips - bus station right next to train station with tourist info right in between the two. Trips to lands end, porthcurno/Minack theatre, mouse hole, st Ives, and st Michael mount highly recommended. If you like a coastal walk, try lands end to Sennen Cove, takes about an hour and a quarter. Buses run from sennen cove and lands end so you could do it in either direction.

Lovely quirky hotel - clean fresh sheets; Felt like South East Asian hospitality meets English Seaside. Would definitely return.
Tips:Ginos Spagehetti House for dinner is well worth a visit. Zebra Crossing Cafe serves delicious coffee as either take away or dine in. Looked they had good cakes too, but did not sample them

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much! The rooms were cleaned each day which was lovely and the breakfast was amazing - especially the fresh fruit! What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of the world!
Tips:The open air theatre in Penlee Park, literally steps up the road was fabulous - we enjoyed The Three Musketeers, but it seems like there is a different show each evening. We also ventured out to Sennen Cove which was a really quiet, safe space (although negotiating the stones to get to the sandy space near the sea required patience, or shoes!)

20th July 2022:
Estoril is a charming hotel, hidden away from the main streets in Penzance, but still a short walk to the seaside. We really enjoyed the spaciousness of our room (number 4) with its high ceilings and bay windows. Despite the age of the building, the bathroom facilities are modern with a shower/bath and plenty of hot water with good pressure. The breafast option was great, with enough choices to keep my wife and I happy -- cereal, muesli, yoghurt, juice, fruit salad, croissant/bun, and a choice of cow or soy milk. A bonus was the bread roll supplied with breakfast, featuring either tomato/mozzarella filling or ham/egg filling. We took these with us on our outings and they provided enough sustenance for our lunch. The only minor drawback is that there's only 3 parking spaces assigned to the hotel and it's "first come, first served" to use them. Street parking can be difficult, especially since one side of the street has restricted parking Monday through Saturday. The staff were all cheerful and helpful, making our stay easy and enjoyable. There's a lounge/dining room on the ground floor for guest use which features lots of comfortable chairs and tables, plus there's a shady outdoor courtyard. Nothwithstanding the parking issues, we would most definitely stay at Estoril again should we return to Penzance. It was a wonderful experience.
Tips:Beware of street parking. Read the signs carefully. There's an Italian restaurant at the bottom of the street that's really good.

We were so impressed with The Estoril. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable and inviting. It is just a short stroll to the beach and promenade. Our hosts were very welcoming. We would gladly recommend The Estoril for a visit to Penzance.
Tips:We found THE ADMIRAL BENBOW a real delight. It's like stepping on board a galleon and the food was delicious, try the fresh Newlyn fish for a real treat. Our staff member was lovely, just a shame we didn't get her name as we would give her a special thank you 😊

28th June 2022:
Lovely small hotel, my room was a single on the 2nd floor which had more than enough space and great furnishings. The strong pressure in the electronic shower was definitely a plus! I loved the "takeout" breakfast concept - the food was super fresh, a baguette (I opted for ham/boiled eggs), a freshly baked croissant (or pain au chocolat), homemade plain yoghurt, cereal and juice options. More than enough to keep you going until early afternoon.
Tips:Keys: Check in is self service. Make sure you check your emails prior to your trip since you will receive a code for the small key safe located immediately on your left by the last step to the front door BEFORE you enter Estoril Hotel. Each room has its own small locker. Parking: The Estoril has three small parking spaces but parking nearby wasn't an issue on my visit. The nearside parking in Morrab Road is free between 5pm - 09.00, the opposite parking, where unmarked, is free all day and there is a large car park just up to the road and five mins on foot called Wellfields Car Park - COINS ONLY (charging period Mon-Sat 09.00-16.00, £2.50 all day). Perfect timing for encouraging you to get out and about on your road trips before the 0900 cut off. Keep lots of £1/50p coins handy if parking in Wellfields Car Park since it currently doesn't accept cards. Most other parking areas in Penzance and nearby areas in Cornwall are linked to Just Park so make sure you download the app before travelling. The second floor rooms are reached via quite a steep narrow staircase, nothing unmanageable for a reasonably fit person - be wary of large suitcases though I managed to get a massive scuba bag up - but anyone with reduced mobility should stick to the ground floor studio and 1st floor rooms. Everything is very close by though this is Cornwall, so Penzance is quite hilly. The Estoril is a superb hotel to use as a base for exploring around Cornwall. Eddie and Nong are lovely, quite reserved but super helpful.

I liked the lovely athmosphere, the rosa colour in the room, the flower-decoration, the pretty garden, the friendly Thai-women, the excellent breakfast. And I could see a little part of the sea from our room. The only thing I missed was the normal non-covid athmosphere with less distance while speaking and breakfast in the breakfast room. But I know, that there are people who are afraid - me not. Nevertheless it was a beautiful time in Estoril.

A great location and a very nice house to stay for a couple of days. Parking is a bit hit and miss but we didn’t have any real problems. The Delivered to room continental breakfast was very nice and fresh.
Tips:The house is old and make allowances for this. Very clean and the room was cleaned every day unlike The expensive Premier Inn. Ask for a room on the ground floor if possible as the stairs are steep. We had room 10 at the top of the house.

The Estoril was a lovely homely place. The atmosphere is brilliant, although it is sad to see how the pandemic and the need for social distancing have clearly impacted the social aspect of the B&B. The lovely lounge looks underused, let's hope things return to normal soon. The room was fantastic. We were here for our honeymoon and it was clear that with this in mind the operators had made every effort to make our room comfy and welcoming. The B&B is a stone through from the front as well as the fantastic Artists residence restaurant.
Tips:The Artists Residence and Seafood shack are brilliant. Waves cafe at the top of the high street is very modern and has a nice menu available.

The hosts Nong and Eddie were first class. Never saw Nong (who I saw most) was ever without a smile on her face. Nothing seemed like too much trouble when I requested something. Very clean and comfortable room, serviced daily, plenty of tea and coffee and free bottle of water every day on the tray. Lovely breakfast with a choice of options, this was delivered every day to your door at 8am, with a chirpy good morning greeting from Nong. I was there for 5 days and breakfast was never late. I was in Room 3 and when I return I will be requesting it again. Fantastic establishment and I recommend it to all. Nong and Eddie should be very proud of themselves.
Tips:Great base to explore from, to such highlights such as St. Micheals Mount, Minack Theatre, St.Ives and Mousehole etc. Gorgeous promenade just minutes walk a way lovely gardens to roam also minutes away as is the interesting Penlee Gallery. Many choices of cuisine to choose from, but don't miss the delicious fish and chips at Frasers. Fun Amusements Arcade for kids close to Frasers. If you don't drive, not to worry the nearby bus station has buses going to all the places of interest. This place was total tranquility. Can't wait to return.

The Estoril is a beautiful and peaceful hotel situated very close to the beach. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Our tea, coffee and water was replenished daily and breakfast was left outside our door each morning which was a great easy start to the day.
Tips:Penzance is a great location to stay as it’s situated in the middle of all the popular sights - whilst the town itself doesn’t have tons to do it’s great peaceful and cheaper place to stay for a visit to Cornwall. 30 mins to St Ives and 1 hour to Eden Project. In high season, when prices are at their highest, we felt we got good value for money. The breakfasts were absolutely lovely and it was a very peaceful house. It was an excellent location as 2 of our party are keen birders and were able to easily access the best areas for sea watching. The other 2 were able to spend time in the town, walking and chilling peacefully in the room. The twin room on the ground floor was perfect for our 2 older teenage boys and the small double was perfect for us. WiFi is good as proved by our older son who took an important online music theory exam during our stay!
Tips:A great place to stay if you are a keen sea watching birder. Difficult to comment on restaurants etc as Covid regulations have restricted much activity and the “eat out to help out” scheme made for unusual levels of demand Monday to Wednesday. There are, however, many lovely options within easy walking distance.

Very well maintained room (#8), it has everything you need for an overnight stay. There were towels, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, fan; extra attention paid by placing small water bottles and chocolates in the room. Good size, comfortable bed, 2 types of pillows (for various people's preferences). The top rating goes to maybe the most delicious breakfasts I have had at a hotel - everything we ordered (as it was brought to our room door because of Covid-19) was in the tray - amazing brown (multigrain) baguette with egg & bacon, great pastries, muesli, milk, !! homemade yoghurt! So tasty! And the fruit salad - compared to other hotels' salads, this one was real fresh fruit pieces in a good size cup!!! We were well-rested and with full tummies on the morning.
Tips:Great place to stay - peaceful and quiet, yet just 10 min walk from the very centre and all shops and restaurants!

Tips:Breakfast at the hotel will keep you happy for a long time. Down the road is a great Italian Restaurant with view of the sea ( called Ginos). Best Fish& Chips was at Makrel Sky. Not a typical chippy, but very small local restaurant with only a few tables. If going to Lands End, go early- from around 11 there are many busses with tourists coming. Lovely room in quirky house which has been enhanced beautifully with lots of dainty touches from Thailand. Buffet breakfast was excellent, and even though the coffee was from a machine, it was very, very good. Host very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, eg where to eat, what to see. En suite small, but nicely fitted out. We would stay there again.
Tips:Parks and gardens very close, seafront promenade and Penzance town centre both within easy walking distance, a good variety of places to eat and drink are also nearby. Good setting-off point for the Isles of Scilly ferry, as the harbour is fairly near to the bottom of the road.

The owners and the stuff of the hotel have been always very friendly and helpfully. If you have had a wish or a question at breakfast Nang was always there to help. And Eddie helped me often to plan my routes for walking. My room was very good. It was always nice quiet in the hotel.
Tips:The hotel is in a beautiful and quiet street. You can walk through the Morrab Park into the city centre in less than 5 min. Or you can walk to the Panlee Park up in Morrab Road. A beautiful park with a very nice Cafe and Museum. You can walk to St. Michaels Mount, mostly on the beach, it is a wonderful walk. You can drive with several buses for example to Lands End, the Minack Theatre or to St. Ives. My favorite Restaurant in Penzance was Ginos Spaghettis.

We found you to be perfect hosts. More than accommodating to us when we arrived early and allowing us to use the facilities so we could be ready in time for our friends wedding.
Tips:The Estoril Hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet location, even though it's on a normal street. We were attending our friends wedding at Penzance Register office and chose the hotel on a previous visit as it's in walking distance. There are plenty of local restaurants, and cinema which are a short walk into town. The harbour is also a short walk. We highly recommend staying at The Estoril Hotel and would happily stay there again.

Pleasant, clean, quiet little hotel with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The lack of a cooked breakfast is made up by the range of cold food, fruit salad, cereal etc. Very convenient for travellers to and from the Isles of Scilly - the early start and late finish to breakfast is very helpful. Would choose it again.
Tips:If you are only staying overnight suggest you pack overnight things in one small bag and leave large ones downstairs. The climb to the top floor is steep, and bordering on dangerous coming down with heavy bags. We left ours in the office without any problem. We ate at a chinese restaurant - very good.

Owners were very friendly and accommodating and enabled us to do as much as possible in our short stay by allowing us to leave our hand luggage before checking in, and after checking out.
Tips:We would recommend the Turks Head for a meal and would not recommend the Navy Inn. The service and quality of food at the Turks Head was very good, whilst the food at the Navy Inn was overpriced with a very narrow menu. St Michael's Mount was very accessible using the local bus and well worth a visit, as was St Ives using the railway branch line.

Tips:We enjoyed the proximity of Mousehole, a delightful fishing village;Porthcurno beach, where the transatlantic cable begins its journey and, the highlight, the Minack Theatre, hewn out of the rocks and with a spectacular view of the ocean. Coffee, tea, 3 kinds of juices - easy to please everyone. Many thanks for lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay with you - no faults whatsoever! It was lovely to meet you both. You have the balance just right, from the decor etc. in the rooms, comfy beds, breakfast content and quiet ambience. Pam and I could not have stayed anywhere better to mark 61years of friendship - next time I will come with my husband!
Tips:Thank you for your advice especially re. The Navy Inn and the Honey Pot - we frequented both more than once! We also loved Penlee House and spent a day in St. Ives, both well worth a visit. Our plans to visit St. Michaels Mount were thwarted- best not to try at low tide when the sea is too rough for the boat and causeway swamped by the waves!

Clean, attractive & comfortable room; good value, welcoming staff. Breakfast is cold, but hot croissants, excellent fruit salad, yogurt - I had gluten-free muesli on request - & good coffee. I left my heavy bag there for half a day after I checked out. I look foward to returning.
Tips:Next to Penlee Park - we got the Club tel no from Estoril & booked a tennis court that afternoon; sub tropical Gardens too. BEST THING EVER though just along the prom is the Jubilee Pool LIDO _ vast open-air seawater 1950's blue & white Lido + hot shower, friendly staff & excellent cafe (huge & delicious crab sandwich)- it's like the sea only warmer (a bit) and with no waves or seaweed - fab!

Lovely room - just needed a mirror in the room because the hairdryer didn't reach the one in the bathroom. Other than that a perfect stay - and I'm not usually easily pleased. Such lovely hosts, delicious breakfast with really good coffee, perfect location near to town but not at all noisy, lovely new shower room, and very comfy bed. Next time I need to stay in Penzance I know where I will be headed! Thank you very much.
Tips:Penlee House is just up the road and definitely worth a visit either to view their latest exhibition or just for tea and cake in the lovely cafe overlooking the peaceful garden.
