Friendly welcome upon arrival, great recommendations and thorough explanation of how everything works. Lovely warm, cosy vibe. Room was big, light and bright and the en-suite was a high standard with towels and toiletries supplied. A short walk into town.
Tips:Booke Jubille lido, looked amazing. Found a lovely wine bar/sushi restaurant called Copper Fox and ate at The Barican Bistro which was delicious. Shore fish restaurant needs to be booked the day before as they buy the allocated fish in the morning.

A wonderful place with so many delightful touches done with an eye for beauty and artistry. We felt instantly at home. Our host was friendly and charming. Everything was spotless and eye-catching, and an air of welcoming generosity was abundant. The kitchen was plentifully stocked with fresh and wholesome food, and we welcomed the opportunity to meet and mingle with our fellow guests in an informal way. Altogether one of the best places we have ever stayed, and a great pity we only had one night there!
Tips:A perfect stop-off to Scilly, for a visit to Penzance itself or further afield. The proximity to the railway station and (a little further) the harbour is a major advantage.

26th September 2023:
We love staying here for our stopover night. It's comfortable, quiet, and Maria always makes us feel welcome. In our 15 years of stopping over on the way to Scilly, we've only found one B&B as good, and they are no longer operating! We like being able to help ourselves to a healthy breakfast, at a time that suits us. It's really helpful to be able to leave our big baggage there between checkout and catching our train.
Tips:The Jubilee Pool, or a swim off Battery Rocks with the other sea-swimmers. The FrontRoom cafe for an unusual & personal touch, and excellent food. The Boatshed for lovely fish, and a good meal when you come back on the Scillonian - if you book! Stones Taxis seem to be reliable and cheap. Lots of interesting independent shops up Causewayhead. Lots of weird and wonderful secondhand & hippy shops at the bottom of MarketJew Street.

Central location; easy to find, even on foot, in pouring rain, in the dark. No idea how easy it is to find when you can see where you are going. Hosts were great: they’ve created a perfect atmosphere of relaxed hospitality. They’re always available but leave you to get on with things. There is a comfortable and well appointed kitchen for guest use; breakfast is provided in the kitchen and is simple but faultless. Anything more is overkill, and if you really, really wanted something different (a fry up) there is a well appointed kitchen with all the equipment for you to get stuck in (just bring your own eggs and bacon, but why you’d want to when the continental breakfast provided is substantial enough, beats me.) There is a comfortable guest lounge on the ground floor, but to be honest my room was so comfortable and I was so tired, I just had a cup of tea in the kitchen and settled into the room. There are probably a lot more features I could talk about but I was too tired to notice. I was too busy being comfortable. If you are looking for a beautifully comfortable place to relax while visiting the Penzance area, with the added extra of a guest kitchen, and a continental brekkie thrown in, this is for you. If a full English is a deal breaker, come anyway and whip up your own.
Tips:Good location for the railway station, bus station, ferry and heliport. Good position for walk around the bay to the Mount.

Particularly good option for the solo traveller, with just the right mix of privacy and communal/social facilities. The breakfasts are perfect. The kitchen gives you the chance to rustle up your own meals and save money. Staff are lovely and everything worked perfectly. Would happily return!
Tips:Local buses are fantastic value for money - allow 2/3 hours (plus stops) for the open-top coastal bus. A cushion or rug might make your journey more comfortable. Excellent deli/takeaway lunches at the Cornish Hen Deli (top of Chapel Street) and very good independent food shops on Causewayhead. Evening meals can be tricky especially on Monday evenings when kitchens close after the w/e. Booking ahead helps.

Tips:Don’t miss morning swims at the rocks outside Jubilee Pool! The Shore restaurant was exquisite. Newlyn has lots to offer. Lamp & Whistle pub is worth a visit for its decor and excellent beer. Shop for groceries at Thorne’s if you like fresh, local, beautiful and plentiful produce.

Tips:My recommendation from Simon to the Dolphin Tavern for a meal was super - I would recommend to anyone (especially the brownie for dessert). I recommend visiting Morrab Gardens and having a stroll down the promenade. If you don't have a car, the buses from the bus station are fab and go to many places (getting the Land's End coaster was a highlight of my trip!).

A warm welcome, clear explanations given especially around COVID protocols and restrictions, we were very happy with our stay here, and only wished it had been longer. There’s a lovely atmosphere and although we weren’t able to use the kitchen due to Government restrictions, hot water, tea and coffee were available 24/7 in the living room. Exceptional value for money and will happily return when we are next in the area. 10/10 rating

Had a wonderful stay at EasyPZ Backpackers. Lovely room with sea view and our own sink in the room. With COVID regulations, we had our own bathroom which was spotlessly clean and included big towels to use during our stay. There was tea, coffee and hot water available in the lounge while the kitchen is unavailable due to COVID. Lots of tips and helpful info given. Would have been helpful to have coasters in the room, and perhaps access to a recycling bin (though this may have been in the kitchen). Overall, a really great stay and I would love to stay again!
Tips:If you arrive after 4pm you can park in the big sea front car park for free overnight if there isn't immediately a space for street parking. Helly's is a really nice cafe for brunch.

Floyd was a fantastic host and was incredibly hospitable during our stay here. Whilst somethings were different due to Covid-19 restrictions (e.g. shared kitchen had to be closed) he went out of his way to make sure our stay wasn't affected by this. Awesome location, awesome host, awesome price, would highly reccommend!
Tips:Bus ride (or long walk) down to Marazion for beach and St.Michaels Mount is definitely worth it, just make sure you check tide times! Also en route (ish) is Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens which are certainly worth a look around. Many nice beaches around this part of Cornwall, St.Ives is also a short train ride away and is a must if you haven't been before. Lots of nice pubs and restaurants in Penzance but would definitely recommend the Taj Mahal for Indian. Order from here on Floyd's recommendation and it was awesome!

I really enjoyed staying at the hostel and it was located close to the train station which was ideal for me. The facilities were clean and the hot shower in good condition. I also thought it was a very nice touch to provide free bread, tea, and coffee throughout the day. I would say the only issue was availability of staff (in the event they were needed). I was made aware someone would be around but not sure how or where to find them. Maybe this could be displayed on a notice board in the entrance, having said that I might not have noticed this information so I apologise if this is the case, just food for thought :)

There was a group of 11 of us all in Penzance for a sports event, the communication I had before we arrived was perfect, the owner couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. The hostel itself was amazing, it really felt like a home away from home, there were games in the lounge we had fun playing in the evening, there was plenty of local amenities and places to eat within walking distance and we woke in the morning to the most amazing view of the sea and st Michael's mount. Easy-going staff, welcoming atmosphere, and not expensive, plus located close to the transport hub (buses and train station) without being too close.
Tips:Some of the pubs do a nice lunch or dinner, and there's always spoons (which is a good fallback). There's also plenty of takeaways and similar, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere aside from spoons open late. The best thing about Penzance is probably the connections it has to other places *insert joke about escaping Penzance here*. Buses from all over Cornwall stop at Penzance, and it has a direct train to London (amongst other places), so it's quite easy to get out and go do touristy things like visit St Ives.

I enjoyed three stays at easyPZ Backpackers while in Cornwall. It's a very comfortable quiet backpackers, within 10 minutes walk of Penzance station. It has a well-equipped kitchen including free self-service breakfasts), a comfortable lounge and free WiFi. The rooms sleep 3-4 and each bed has its own locker with internal mains socket for securely charging devices. Floyd and his team keep the place very clean and tidy and are very friendly. Plenty of tastefully quirky decoration inside the place and each room has its own theme. Highly recommended!
Tips:As well as a 9 day trip to the Isles of Scilly, I also enjoyed visits to St Michael's Mount (about 1 hour walk along the coastal path to Marazion), Trengwainton Gardens (40 minutes walk), Tremenheere Sculpture Garden (40 minutes walk) as well as a few days at St Just (Land's End YHA) for walks along the coastal path to Cape Cornwall, Sennen Cove and Land's End, as well as a day in St Ives.

Great place to stay. Super friendly, clean, relaxing, homely hostel. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The owners are really friendly and helpful. I adore this hostel and the staff, the bed was comfy the kitchen and bathrooms immaculate, the wifi great, the breakfast amazing. I love the location and the informal atmosphere. I brought seaweed back to the hostel which I collected on the rocks near Lands End and Flyod helped me cook it up and share it with the others. That was fun, it was a fun time and wish I could have stayed for many more days and nights.
Tips:Stay at Easy PZ, others may be more glamorous but this one is totally genuine fun and relaxing, I was very much impressed with the facilities and the handcrafted touch in all the rooms as well as the authentic touches hand crafted in all areas of the hostel. From Penzance you have access to all the delights of Cornwall closeby, Penzance is a fun place to stay and enjoy the shops and all the nature all around and the sea at your doorstep.

A well maintained and managed hostel, clean, bright and friendly. We were very impressed. The location is good as both bus and railway stations are only a 3 minute walk away and shops only 5 minutes, yet it is quiet and therefore easy to get to sleep.
Tips:The Long Ships pub is a 3 minute walk away and the food and service are both good. We only stayed for one night as we were walking the South West Coast Path and did not have time to explore Penzance.

A really lovely hostel! Very well kept, loads of good advice available, everything you need is there and a few things you didn't even know you needed. Loved the free breakfast, saves you a lot of trouble and makes you feel welcome and at home. What I especially loved was the decoration, lots of cute little details everywhere, like chalk boards to draw on, or little pictures on the walls, nice wooden furniture, a very cosy living room for rainy days etc. Thanks a lot! :)

We stayed overnight en route to the Isles of Scilly. Perfect location 5 mins walk from train station, 10 mins from town centre and 15 mins from harbour.
Tips:Took up hostel staff suggestions of Dolphin pub for an evening meal and coffee in a cafe just over the bridge before the harbour. Both very good recommendations. Also ate in Polish restaurant at top of Causeway Head; very good. Had a few hours to kill before return train and did town trail (£1 from tourist office by station) which was good way to explore the town which is a very nice base for holidays

Just the best hostel you could ask for! The stuff is so friendly that I wished my friends where like them, they give you all the informations you need plus a list of restaurants you definitely want to check! The location is so good that I couldn’t believe it: 3 min walk from the train/ main bus station and right in front of the sea. I could actually see the sea from my bedroom, can you believe it?! I didn’t until I saw it! Guys, you need to try to believe it, it’s just the best! Xx

I loved the decoration, signs & notes, colors and general ambiance of this hostel. I appreciated the lockers with locks (as some hostels don't provide locks or make you pay for or rent them).
Tips:The Street sign for Lannoweth Road is not at the corner near the main road, but up the street, hanging only about three feet high on a wall that is often obstructed by parked cars. You may not be able to see the street sign, so if you are walking from the train station, turn left after Cliff Hotel and then bear slightly right. Taking the local buses is easy. The main bus stops are all very near the train station and just on the other side of the tourist information building.

This hostel is gorgeous and since it’s obviousky a house it feels super homely. I love the decor of the place and the beanbag in the lounge is soooo comfy. I slept wonderfully and loved that my room had an ensuite. I wish I could’ve enjoyed the garden more too but it wasn’t great weather. Floyd you were really accommodating thank you :) only suggestions maybe double pillows and different bread option but that’s only personal preference! Will be back.
Tips:Definitely go to the Lamp and Whistle for a unique pub experience. Take the bus to Porthcurno or Sennen for some lovely views. Take the train to beautiful St. Ives - its really close. You can surf pretty much anywhere but Sennen and St. Ives would be my top picks. There are a couple of nice guys who run a surf shack along the path towards Marazion where the wind and kite surfing is really good - would be awesome in summer! Also go to St. Michael’s Mount which is a nice walk.

I had a lovely time in your house, we can really feel like being at home... I've loved the common areas and the "whenever you feel like it breakfast". The map in the entrance is absolutely usefull (and creative!). Allthough I'm a little disapointed about not having you around (at nearly) any time, the bell system works well in a sens that you were always going up straight away when it was rang but we all had this "we don't want to disturb them" situation a way to talk with other guests because you ask them instead of asking you nevertheless it would have bien nice to talk with you a little bit more to have more tips & hear personal experiences about Cornwall. It's not like we are invited, we pay to stay so you being in the house (not downstairs) few hours a day would have been apreciate even if you don't have a proper reception, which is good to have a better "feel at home hostel", we didn't want to ring you when we left and so didn't get to say goodbye, at least for the check out hours be around.... Reading all the comments both on the kitchen wall and the book by the door I feel you usually are around so maybe bad timing for us, just busy looping forward your holidays or so... (this is why I didn't mentionned it on my hostelworld website comment) Take good care and Floyd have a good time in spain

Rhi was super nice, it was lovely to feel so welcome after a long train journey from London. The hostel is really well looked after and a refreshing change from usual budget accommodation - I travel a lot. I wish them well in their venture.
Tips:I had my evening meal at The Boatshed, a local fish restaurant specialising in the local catch. Excellent food reasonably priced. Next day I got the bus to Sennen Cove and walked to Land's End. Much better than getting swept along with the tourists at Land's End itself. On the bus back I got off at Sheffield and walked down to Mousehole and then back to Penzance along the coast path. Mousehole is spoiled by tourists, sadly.

Never had I stay in such a well planned and carefully arranged hostel. It's been a heart warning experience and sooo much better than any hotel. Everything id arranged in details to cater to a traveller's needs, abd I appreciate the details: personal lughts by the bed, personal chargers, lots of space in the rooms, extremely clean bathroom and the lively handmade map of local gems and activities. If you are staying in Penzance, there is no better place. Believe me, I stayed in four other hotels in town and none of them comes close to the comfort and cosyness of Easy PZ. Many thanks to the owners, you are kings!

I would be nice a bit earlier and some desk where ask info at regular hours, but understand the idea of the small business. Table in the kitchen could have some more space eventually, but pretty cozy and almost as an home. Living room same things. I appreciated the books about Cornwall. More info and histories on it. The place is amazing and really well equipped. It is also very clean and bright. It's just a delight to stay! Facilities have been designed with the traveller in mind and these really added value to my stay! On top of everything is the host. Thanks Floyd for your kindness and for being such a friendly and helpful host. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in your beautiful place. You made my vacation one of the best I've ever had. From the breakfasts to the comfortable bed and to your wealth of information of the area in helping me plan my days, I was well cared for. Keep going! I strongly recommend it.

I do love your hostel, guys. Honestly, I've fallen in love with some small bits (the bedsteads, the big map, the keyholder, the yard and the overall atmosphere (kitchen, painted walls, surfing atmosphere, living room), too. Literally I cannot say anything I didn't like. It's clearly visible that you put all the effort into making a cool spot for backpackers and I'm sure I'm gonna be back on my way home from the Scilly Islands even though I have absolutely nothing to do in Penzance.

Amazing! Such a cute place! Really welcoming and they had a giant mapped out board with colour coded pins for things to do in the area. The rooms were quaint and well decorated. But other than that no complaints (and even that was not a problem!)

So wonderful. I felt so comfortable and at home there. The facilities were new or newly renovated, the rooms were very clean, it was just a very welcoming place. Only "complaint" (and I definitely wouldn't call it that) was I was hoping for a staff member at reception for some guidance on how best to get around and suggestions on what was worth seeing and there wasn't really an official reception desk. The only staff I saw after I checked in was the one changing sheets. She was super helpful. And I was able to get suggestions from other guests.

Guided tour through Penzance with this Lady - a highly recommended tip for all people interested in past an present of this little town. It's like an urbanistic walking. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186240-d3582907-Reviews-Guided_Walking_Tour_of_Penzance_town-Penzance_Cornwall_England.html You also shouldn't miss a bus trip to Land's End or further on to St. Ives. Riding by these - well it's not untrue - shabby busses is an adventure if sitting in the open space on the top and trees flushing your head or watching spectacular traffic manoevres in narrow streets of Cornwall

Tips:There is so much to see and do I'm Penzance, I wish I stayed longer. Biggest highlights were going to see a show at the Minack theatre, call Oates travel and it's £12 return which was handy without a car. The walk to Mousehole along the coast and coastal walk to St Michaels mount. Jubilee pool day..fav place to eat was The Front room in town.

This is the best hostel I've stayed at in the Uk and one of the best ones overall (I've probably stayed in over 100). Bathrooms, kitchen, and bedrooms were spotless at all times and the house was a comfortable temperatue and nice clean carpet throughout. There was a fully stocked kitchen, with free cereal, fruit, milk, and juice. Each bed has two power sockets. The wifi was fast and available throughout the property. Beds were comfortable and enough space between fellow travellers. Each guest gets a free (big new) towel. The common area has a ton of useful information on Cornwall and how to get around and what's good to see. It also has comfortable couches, books you want to watch, and a big screen TV with DVDs you want to watch. It's easy to meet people there. The staff are really friendly and relaxed and give good recommendations on which places to see. Highly recommended and well done.

Homely room, homely kitchen, homely living room to a point that it has a cool vibe. Lloyd was very friendly and patient in checking us in. Will definitely stay there again whenever im in Penzance.
Tips:Ive not had the opportunity to say a restaurant hit the spot for me yet. Food was just ok and not great. But location location location. Great locations for the restaurants. Travelling "whirlwind" can be done in a day. £10 per person on an A17 or 300 can take you to Minack Theatre, Lands End and St Ives. Gorgeous views on a bus ride.

Location so good as within easy walking distance of stations (train and bus) shops and quay for Scillonian.
Tips:local busses provide good transport and give out timetables at the bus station. We much enjoyed the mine at Geevor. EasyPZ the name says it all. It has e very relaxed, casual, easy going and caring atmosphere. Floyd the owner and everything else of the house is a very genuine guy that will help you out however he can. Beside the atmosphere being so relaxed still the house runs like a high end B&B. Everything is clean all the time the appliances are new. Everything works and everything is not just made to just meet the requirements but beyond with eye for detail and with care. It's a beautiful place that feels weird to call it a hostel even though you still share your room it feels more like an B&B. Thank you EasyPZ!
Tips:Worth it to pay the fee for the Garden of St Micheal's Mount, beautiful plants and surroundings. Definitely get to Gwenver beach and Sennen cove. Walking the route between Gwenver and Sennen you get the view of both beaches. Sennen Cove is a small classy place that has exactly what you need and no more. A really good coffee and ice cream place (Little Bo Cafe) and a cafe overlooking the beach or a tiny store where you can buy beer to drink on the beach. You can rent whatever it is you would like to do in the ocean next to the beach (Wetsuites, surfboard, bodyboard etc.) Walk from Sennen Beach to LAnd's End. Don't just go with the bus to Land's End walk it from Sennen. It is a beautiful walk with beautiful views. Land's End itself is not much to it just fast food and souvenir shops which cover the beauty of the nature but the walk to Land's End is what it is about. Portcurno is also very beautiful beach didn't have too much time there but just to have seen it was very rewarding.

This is what a hostel should be like - affordability doesn't come at a cost at all, with beautiful furnishings, clean rooms, a good location (especially if you have a car it becomes great), over and above with a homey feel to it. Definitely would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Cornwall (yes, the whole county's tourists should know about this place!)

To Floyd and rhi your backpackers is the best I have been to by far. To all the people reading this and wanting to stay. I would say its in your best interest the massive house is amazing. The colours are nice and modern. There is a good feel to the house anywhere you go. The hospitality is spot on and the service is equal. If you come to Penzance there is no other place that's better to stay the price is good I stayed for 10 days so if must be good. Overall markings il give 20/10 yes 20/10 just in case someone thought I made a mistake there. Floyd and rhi keep up the good work its amazing what you both have done and il be coming back to stay even though I live in penzance ;-)
Tips:I couldn't comment on many things however I have come across a boat trip that is roughly a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive from easypz. There is also a big castle near by. There are enough local shops close to easypz and also trains and busses are very close perfect for everyone

Good breakfast, clean kitchen with all the essentials. We would stay there again :)

The best hostel I've stayed in! I felt very looked after and it was so homely. It was very clean, comfortable and a beautifu/stylish place. Id definetly come back! All the other travellers were also very nice/respectful. It was nice to be able to have breakfast whenever you wanted or have a coffee/tea during the day. Great that it was so close to the train/bus station too. Thank you so much to you both! : )
Tips:St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Lands End, Minack theatre, Mouse Hole....I really enjoyed everything I went to see.

We had a lovely time staying at EasyPZ in Penzance! Floyd was super friendly and helpful, really knowledgable about the area, and whipped out a few maps right away to show us where to go and what to do. He recommended a great restaurant for dinner our first night and guided us to an excellent bike hire. The mixed 4-bed dorm room we stayed in was spotlessly clean with fresh linens and a beautiful ensuite bathroom. Lockers with power sockets inside was inspired genius. Would stay here again!
Tips:The Dolphin Tavern was a great place for dinner and a lingering drink in the evening. Definitely go along the coast to the coves and beaches. Porthcurno was splendid. Visiting St Michael's Mount from Marazion was also a nice, short day trip.

Everything is really very comfortable, low key, pleasant, clean. Breakfast food is greatly appreciated, cooking in evenings is easy with all the equipment. TV and computer in living room are terrific extras. I met people I hope to stay in touch with for a long time. And I hope I visit you again!

lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent facilities and decor. Having sockets in the lockers was an added bonus, really well thought out design of the entire hostel.
Tips:Personally I'd recommend having a hire car, that being said I don't know what public transport is like in the area.

By far the best hostel ever. The environment is friendly and welcoming. Staff are willing to help with anything. The guests are lovely. Facilities encourage you to use them just because they are lovely.
Tips:The Sunset at Land's End is a real show of colours, outstanding and romantic. The Minack Theatre and Pednevounder Beach are just gorgeous. The turquoise water, the cliffs, the sky...perfect harmony. Also the Telegraph Museum is definitely a must-see attraction - one of the best museums I've been to.

The most beautiful and cozy hostel I have ever been to. Rhi and Floyd are experienced travellers who thought about any little detail to make the stay just perfect and make you feel at home: very comfortable beds and very cleaned bathrooms, beautiful rooms, fully equipped kitchen with anything you need for your breakfast (bread, jam, milk, coffee, tea, fruits, cereals) plus a gorgeous common room.
Tips:The Lizard area for easy walks and beautiful landscapes.

We had a great time at easyPZ backpackers. Firstly it was really easy to find from the train and bus stations and was also very convenient to get into town. The owners were extremely welcoming and keen to help. The actual building has been done up beautifully and almost felt like a hotel rather than a hostel! The only possible downside is the walls are quite thin, but bring some earplugs and you'd be fine Free breakfast was a lovely surprise. We'd love for them to open up a hostel in our next holiday destination!

Tips:GO TO LANDS END! Seriously this is the most magical place ever! Also get a bus schedule so you know where to be in order to get home. I would also recommend getting a 1,2,3 day pass for the buss depending on how long you'll be there. GREAT deal!
